About Patt Rall

A few years ago, Publisher,Dennis Doeden, and Editor, Molly Miron, of the Bemidji Pioneer had the concept of printing a weekly column on arts activities in the area. I was asked to do a sample column, which was done and filed, and the next thing that happened was people calling me at home on a Sunday morning to say how much they liked the new column--wow! I did not even know it was printed. So the birth parents are Dennis and Molly and I am the Nanny--a story told over and over. The staff at the Pioneer have been wonderful to me--a writer with no journalism training. This has been an OJT (on the job training) experience and every day something new is learned one way or another. Previews and feature stories were added almost three years ago. I earned my "reporter" stripes during the Bemidji Book Festival when sometimes there was only 30 minutes to look at the notes, write a story and file it before the deadline. It was a great experience and again, need to thank Dennis and Molly. That's all she wrote, this time, folks.
